Rep. Erica Thomas Seeks to Help Thousands of Students in Cobb County Without Laptops

ATLANTA – State Representative Erica Thomas (D-Austell) is currently seeking laptop donations for Cobb County School District students before the 2020-2021 school year begins on Monday, August 17.

“Cobb County school staff brought to my attention today that thousands of students in the Cobb County area are still without laptops and unable to participate in virtual learning from home,” said Rep. Thomas. “With only 72 hours left until the new school year begins, I want to encourage citizens and local businesses in Cobb County to use this opportunity to rally together and ensure that our students are able to participate in the school year from the safety of their home.”

Rep. Thomas is accepting working laptops that have front-facing webcam technology. Individuals or businesses that are interested in donating a laptop may contact Rep. Thomas’ Capitol office at 404-656-7859 or erica.thomas@house.ga.gov.

Representative Erica Thomas represents the citizens of District 39, which includes portions of Cobb County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2014 and currently serves as House Minority Caucus Vice Chairman. She also serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Juvenile Justice, Retirement and Science and Technology committees.
