Effingham County Receives Over $9 Million in Awards to Reinforce Water, Sewer Infrastructure

ATLANTA – Governor Brian P. Kemp recently announced that more than $422 million in preliminary awards will be issued to high-need communities to provide reliable and safe drinking water and wastewater systems. House Majority Leader Jon Burns (R-Newington) and State Representative Bill Hitchens (R-Rincon) commend the governor’s announcement, which includes awards of $1,675,000 and $7,374,685.36 for both Springfield and Rincon, respectively.

Effingham County’s Mars Theatre Awarded Grant Funding to Support Special Art Projects

ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) and House Majority Leader Jon Burns (R-Newnington), State Representative Bill Hitchens (R-Rincon) and State Senator Jack Hill (R-Reidsville) recently announced that the Mars Theatre was selected as a Vibrant Communities Grant recipient. Rep. Bill Hitchens Named Chairman of House Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Bill Hitchens (R-Rincon) as the Chairman of the House Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee.  Rep. Hitchens will also serve as a member on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Transportation and the Economic Development & Tourism committees.
