Rep. Marcus Wiedower Files Legislation to Legalize Sports Betting in Georgia

ATLANTA – State Representative Marcus Wiedower (R-Watkinsville) recently filed House Bill 380, or the “Georgia Lottery Game of Sports Betting Act,” to legalize mobile sports betting. Under this legislation, revenue generated from sports betting would be directed to educational programs under the Georgia Lottery, such as the HOPE Scholarship, HOPE Grants, Georgia College Completion Grants and Pre-K education.

Chairman Chuck Martin Announces Special Subcommittee of Higher Education to Address Workforce Development, Retention

ATLANTA – State Representative Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta) today announced a new special subcommittee of the House Higher Education Committee to address workforce development. This special subcommittee will examine current challenges the state is facing with respect to recruiting and retaining talent to Georgia’s workforce.
